Dr. Valerie Diane Valeriano has recently been promoted to "Head of Unit" (Swedish Enhetschef) of the Culturomics team after two years as a research engineer and team leader at the Center for Translational Microbiome Research, Department of Tumor, Cell and Microbiology at Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm. Her team's main work revolves around research and development of live microbiome therapeutic drugs, focusing on development of novel technologies and high throughput applications for "translating" the clinical microbiome research performed at CTMR into potential products that can be further assessed and brought into the clinical trials.
