LIMB and KNUT Join Quadram Institute for Global Research Network and Collaboration

Prof. Dae-Kyung Kang, Prof. Arjan Narbad, Prof. Gi-Seong Moon, and Mr. Ji Hoon Song

Prof. Dae-Kyung Kang and Ji Hoon Song of the Laboratory of Industrial Microbiology and Biotechnology (LIMB) at Dankook University visited the Quadram Institute in Norwich, United Kingdom last October 3-7, 2025 to participate in a joint workshop aimed at strengthening research collaboration in microbiome and industrial microbiology.

This strategic meeting brought together leading experts from three institutions: the Quadram Institute, LIMB at Dankook University, and the Microbial Genetic Engineering (MGE) laboratory at Korea National University of Transportation (KNUT). Prof. Kang and Song were joined by Prof. Gi-Seong Moon of KNUT.

The delegation was warmly welcomed by Prof. Arjan Narbad and his team at the Quadram Institute. The workshop served as a platform to discuss joint research initiatives, explore collaborative projects, and exchange insights on emerging technologies in microbiome science, probiotics, and microbial biotechnology.

The partnership between Quadram Institute, LIMB, and MGE laboratory reflects a growing international interest in collaborative microbiome research that bridges fundamental science with real-world industrial applications. Plans are underway to develop joint research proposals, student and faculty exchange programs, and co-authored scientific publications in the future.
